A Shelter in a Time of Storm
An Anchor that Keeps the Soul
Many people are hurting, searching for an anchor in perilous times. All of us need to come to Jesus Christ, the one and only Door by which we can enter into eternal rest. An anchor for the soul is only one component of a larger "picture." We invite you to download the following, and pray that God will give the increase.

July 2, 2007, Scott Showalter, his wife Phyllis, two of their girls, and a hired man were overcome by a poisonous gas in a manure pit. While this sudden, tragic death of five people was very heart-wrenching, their testimony of finding an anchor for their souls in the years preceding their deaths is an incredible story. Scott and Phyllis (as well as Amos, their hired man,) had deep burdens for our community, for mission outreach, and for families with conflict in their homes. On several occasions, Scott mentioned they believe it may take a tragedy in the community to bring about the revival they longed to see.
Well friends, the tragedy has happened. For those of us that knew Scott and Phyllis, their testimony and their sudden death has really made an impact for the eternal good of many souls, I believe. Scott, Phyllis, Amos, and the innocent girls have gone on to their eternal reward. May those of us who remain be challenged to also find our anchor in the SOLID ROCK, Jesus Christ, as they had.
